‘Legends Of Tomorrow’ Spoilers: More Crossover Episodes With ‘The Flash
“And, to me, there is a sort of domestic dramedy aspect of the show, because he is having to share his time-traveling spaceship with this disparate band of knuckleheads”. “We try and exist by the rules we establish for ourselves”, said Berlanti. “Our real goal in all of it is to make something emotionally true and truthful for the characters”, Berlanti shared Sunday with journalists at the Television Critics Assn. press tour in Pasadena. “Or is it like 12 Monkeys”, he said. So there’s really – if there were an actual rule book we could read and learn, we would follow that. We try and follow whatever rules we establish for ourselves. “All of the characters are part of the comic books”, explains executive producer Andrew Kreisberg, but “they’ve never been incorporated in this way”. “No, I’m just intrigued by the imaginations of these writers, it’s so dynamic and challenging, and I’m looking forward to wherever we go, because we’re moving”. But if we have learned anything from Arrow, The Flash and CBS’s Supergirl, this show will be more than big enough. DC’S LEGENDS OF TOMORROW stars Victor Garber (“The Flash”, “Alias”); Brandon Routh (“Arrow”, “Superman Returns”); Arthur Darvill (“Doctor Who”); Caity Lotz (“Arrow”); Ciarra Renee (“Pippin”); Franz Drameh (“Edge of Tomorrow”); with Dominic Purcell (“The Flash”, “Prison Break”); and Wentworth Miller (“The Flash”, “Prison Break”).

Another question was raised as to whether The CW has any plans for a female-led superhero series.
“The characters were really interesting to us, and we never felt that we had enough time on Flash or Arrow to delve into their lives…And we looked at the landscape and felt there really wasn’t a classic team-up show in this genre”. [Laughs] It’s like fun things like that.
“I think as long as all the shows, first of all they’ve all got to be great, but they each explore something different”, Johns said.
One revelation as the program took shape, added Berlanti, is “how much of a family show it is”. “It’s important to have real stakes and real consequences and real deaths on the show”.
Trying to get an example of evolution that’s more specific, I prompted: The show is at its best when… The characters form what he considers to be a “dysfunctional family”. I’m not sure I had that thought or any of us had that thought when we started out.
Berlanti also said while the show’s cast is a diverse one, there’s still more work to be done. And so, yeah, that’s a desire. “That’s a real I think it’s a real conversation point right now in Hollywood because it should be, and people should be talking about it and doing as much as they can to change the landscape”. That would be great. Maybe there were times the storytelling was too timid, or too bold, but I can’t say we’re not being bold now.
