“It’s important because last season we achieved the best thing we could in England”.

Rob Holding is delighted that Arsenal managed to keep a clean sheet away against Leicester City this evening, as the Gunners went home with a 0-0 draw.

Defending Premier League champions Leicester City are chasing their first win of the 2016-17 EPL season when they take on Arsenal, also hunting their first victory.

Arsenal have not made any new signings so far in this summer window other than the little known 21-year-old Japanese striker, Takuma Asano.

Wenger declined to speculate on Vardy’s reasons for rejecting Arsenal’s approach but said “you have to respect the decisions of people”, and he heaped praise on Mahrez, saying the winger “has been outstanding” for Leicester.

“We have to do everything right then accept what is our destiny”.

Schmeichel was forced into action again in the 30th minute when Cazorla’s free kick from 40-yards out almost flew into the bottom corner of the Leicester goal, as not one player made contact with the ball, forcing the Danish keeper to make a great reaction save.

Arsenal’s first game of the campaign was a wild match that might go down as match of the season when it’s all said and done. Chambers scored against Liverpool last Sunday: Problem is, he was in a defence that let in four.

On each previous occasion, though, Arsenal has bounced back with a win in the very next game before going on to take its customary position in the top four at the end of the season.

So despite big deals for Luis Hernandez and Ahmed Musa, they were on the bench and Leicester tried to put last week’s defeat at Hull behind them and return to what won them the title last season.

Arsenal have not lost two consecutive opening league games since the inaugural season of the EPL (1992/93).

That won’t be the case when Leicester hosts Arsenal on Saturday. They are joint with Manchester United in scoring the most against one team (Man United vs Newcastle).

Three months on from their fairytale 5,000-1 title win, Leicester were stunned 2-1 by crisis club Hull City last weekend, while injury-depleted Arsenal were run ragged by Liverpool in a 4-3 home defeat.
