Leicester: Champions League awakening for Leicester
They played their first game against Club Brugge in the group stage and won the game easily by 0-3 away from home.

However, it was Marc Albrighton who opened the scoring inside five minutes at the Jan Breydelstadion before Mahrez whipped in a wonderful free-kick just before the half-hour.
Riyad Mahrez scored in each half as Leicester City enjoyed a dream debut in the Champions League on Wednesday, cruising to a 3-0 win over Club Brugge in Belgium.
Leicester lost 4-1 at Liverpool on Saturday while Brugge slipped to a 1-0 defeat to Waasland-Beveren on Friday, their third loss in their opening six games which leaves Preud’homme’s side 10th in the Jupiler Pro League. For as impressive as Claudio Ranieri’s team were in overcoming unprecedented financial obstacles in order to win the club’s first ever Premier League title back in May, they have not quite hit the heights of 2015/16 in the early stages of the new campaign. We want to go out there, show what we’re capable of and prove what we can do.
Tottenham is back in the Champions League for the first time in five years and, with the capacity at its White Hart Lane stadium reduced due to redevelopment, it opted to play its European matches at Wembley this season. We hope to go through the group and play again, but for us also it is important if we don t achieve the first two positions, to go into the Europa League. They tried to find a right solution but it was very hard. “We don’t have excuses because if they beat us, they are better than us”. I never thought I would even get the opportunity to play in it, let alone score. “He took the responsibility”. Despite the comfortable nature of the victory over Club Brugge, Leicester fielded their best 11 and whilst Ranieri manged to take off Vardy, Slimani and Mahrez towards the end of the game, it could take its toll towards the end of this weekend’s game. He was a lucky man. “Maybe he is exhausted of hearing dilly-ding dilly-dong all the time”. It was a very good victory. The Brugge defense misjudged a long throw-in and the winger only had to steer the ball into an empty net.
He then converted a 61st-minute penalty to seal a flawless night for Claudio Ranieri’s side, who are already top of the section after Porto and FC Copenhagen drew 1-1 in the other game.
“We scored three goals but I don’t think it was a flawless performance”. Against Brugge there was a team who wanted to react after the bad defeat and it was hard for everyone. To win the Champions League we would have to write another massive fairy-tale.
“If other teams think we are one of the weak links then that might not be wise”. It’s not easy but it’s okay.
“We have started well and give us confidence and now we have to stay calm and put our mind to the next match on Saturday”.
“We’re just too good for you”, was the chant from the away supporters, before Izquierdo struck the post as the Belgian champions pushed for a consolation goal.
“We failed because after two minutes we could have scored and the game was totally different”.

One of Leicester’s biggest questions this season will be how Ranieri rotates his lineup to cope with his team’s expanded schedule as midweek games become more of a normality. “With strength and the right mentality we can do something, as we have nothing to lose”.
