Leicester City Claudio Ranieri hails “fantastic performance”

Claudio Ranieri’s team took a huge step towards the Premier League title by overpowering Swansea with a nerveless 4-0 victory at the King Power Stadium.

Any doubts that the Foxes would struggle without their 22-goal top scorer were removed as Leonardo Ulloa, his replacement, scored twice after Riyad Mahrez’s opener.

“We knew Swansea were a good team and can dominate teams with the way they play, but it was important for us to make sure that wasn’t the case”.

“Now is the right moment to push”. For this reason, we give everything.

“In my mind, Tottenham will win all the matches”. Man United sit another five points back in fifth. “And we must be very, very concentrated as well today”. “Without Jamie, everyone made something more”.

“I said to them (the players), ‘We have to play as an eleven…” “I’m very pleased with Ulloa”.

“I am disappointed because there was good playing for the game”. The defender comes between Schlupp and the keeper, but the man from Ghana pokes the ball to Ulloa.

“Yeah, we have had a settled team but we have always known the players who are trying to get in the team can do well”.

“I am always ready to play and want to help the team”. I work always for this.

The first chance to clinch the crown comes Sunday at Old Trafford against Manchester United.

Riyad Mahrez set Leicester on their way in the 10th minute after intercepting Ashley Williams’ poor pass, before firing a low shot into the bottom corner.

The final games of the season will be worth watching.

Ranieri, who wept on the pitch following the recent 2-0 win at Sunderland, said that the emotion fuelling his side made them a formidable proposition.

“This is a dream for Leicester and I understand why Claudio had the tears in his eyes the other week”. I am very happy for him.

Vardy’s disciplinary hearing with the Football Association takes place on Monday, when the England worldwide is facing another one-match ban for his reaction to being sent off against West Ham.

“We have to improve our defending, but it’s not a problem of the four defenders, it’s a problem with all of the team”.

Leicester’s win means Spurs must now beat West Brom to keep alive their own title hopes.

Swansea are safe this season after reaching 40 points and boss Francesco Guidolin admitted the Foxes were the better side and deserve to win the title.

“A little”, he said on Tuesday at a Premier League sponsor’s event.
