Leicester City fans react to Hull defeat

“They played better, we tried to do our best”, the Italian told Sky Sports.

Adama Diomande put Hull ahead in first-half stoppage time, Riyad Mahrez leveled from the penalty spot just after the restart and Robert Snodgrass scored the victor in the 57th minute.

“But all credit to the football players”.

“There’s a danger with Leicester that if you play high, they can hurt you behind”, added interim coach Mike Phelan.

As kick-off approached, the home fans chanted “Allams out, we want Allams out” – in protest at the stewardship of the only Premier League club not to have signed a single senior player this summer. “We should have been a bit more aggressive but these kind of things have to happen to know how to get better in the next game”. “And I think this is the key of the match”. We made a huge effort – but we are not like a team.

However, Hull went into the lead just before half-time as Snodgrass corner was connected with a header by David which Kasper Schmeichel pushed into the path of Hernandez and Diomande and both applied a bicycle kick at the same time to score but the goal was later awarded to Diomande.

Christian Fuchs got clear after playing a one-two with Musa and, when goalkeeper Eldin Jakupovic raced out to block, the ball ran loose to Vardy – but Jake Livermore threw his body in the way of the shot. Vardy met the rebound with a shot that was charged down and Mahrez followed up with a short run and a curling drive that flew wide of the post. The Tigers now have no permanent manager, have signed no new players despite having a squad of just 13 fit first-teamers, and the division between the fans and the owners has never been larger, however, on the pitch, through sheer determination and togetherness, Hull City’s depleted squad caused the upset of the day.

Leicester’s luck changed within seconds of the restart, with the visitors gifted an equalizer after a clumsy challenge by Tom Huddlestone on Demarai Gray on the edge of the area.

To a man, City performed fantastically, and not even the most die-hard Leicester City fan could deny we deserved the victory, which came curtesy of Robert Snodgrass’ 57 minute victor.
