Leicester earn Claudio Ranieri’s praise despite dropping points against West Brom
Tottenham have been installed as the bookmakers’ favourites for the Premier League title for the first time this season after Leicester’s 2-2 draw with West Brom on Tuesday.

Leicester, who had spent most of the match besieging West Brom’s goal, will reflect ruefully on efforts from Jamie Vardy and Shinji Okazaki that struck the woodwork and Leonardo Ulloa nearly scored in the dying seconds just as he had against Norwich.
“He has been extraordinary but I am very confident because we played King and he has started very well”.
Ranieri said: “We didn’t panic after the first goal and managed the ball very well, we build the pressure from the back and our fans were behind us”.
“I can’t wait to see Huthy later, he got banged out of the way and that doesn’t happen very often”, he added.
But boss Ranieri, whose side visit Watford next on Saturday, insisted: “We are alive and our spirit is ready to fight again”.
We’ve done brilliant, it’s a fantastic point for us but now the game’s over, I just hope Leicester City win the league.
“Tonight wasn’t the right moment, but we are alive and we fight to the end”, Ranieri said.
“I love this, we never, never give up”. “We are the surprise, that is fantastic, a good energy, but if we are realistic the real competitors are City, Arsenal and Tottenham”. They [Leicester] are on top, they have the pressure too, like all the teams that are chasing.
Spurs sit two points behind league leaders Leicester ahead of two crunch London derbies, with a trip to West Ham to come on Wednesday before the grudge match on Saturday against Arsenal.
“We draw the match but it is okay”.
Ranieri’s men have had an average of 41 per cent possession this season before Tuesday, enjoying much success on the counter-attack.
Bournemouth beat south coast rivals Southampton 2-0 in an uninspiring match at Dean Court with the victory keeping the home side eight points clear of the Premier League relegation zone.
“Before the Manchester City game (Spurs’ 2-1 win at the Etihad Stadium on February 14), I was having dinner with Lamela and I was still asking him if he reckoned we can finish top four”, Rose said. “They made fantastic goals so well done to them but also well done to my players”.
