Leicester: Foxes unchanged for Cherries

Claudio Ranieri believes a top-four finish for Leicester City in the Premier League this season would be an incredible achievement. It trails the top two teams by three points.

“It was a pretty fair result”, Leicester keeper Schmeichel said.

And former Birmingham City midfielder Savage feels that the north London side will eventually leapfrog Ranieri’s high-flying Foxes in the coming months.

Against all expectation they enter 2016 joint-top of the table, as they prepare for their next encounter against Bournemouth on January 2, whilst Manchester City will seek a much needed away victory against Watford.

Leicester only have the league and FA Cup to focus on and Ranieri wants the games to pile up on their competitors.

“I think nobody goes from Leicester, there is too many speculation, it’s not true”.

Striker Jamie Vardy missed a great chance to put the Foxes ahead in the first-half as the hosts threatened the City defence with their trademark counter-attacking play.

“We are taking one game at a time, we are only halfway through, there are still a lot of games to play and points to be gotten”, he added. They are a very unsafe team.

‘We are starting now to build our team, ‘ Ranieri told BT Sport after Tuesday’s game. It’s fantastic. We didn’t score but it’s another clean sheet and champagne for my players, of course.

Ranieri said: “It’s not easy for us, but we want to fight with everybody”.

The pair have scored a total of 28 goals this season, with Leicester ending a year ago level on 39 points with Arsenal at the top of the English Premier League.

Leicester are not committed to any targets yet but Morgan wants the players to stay positive over the second half of the season.

Vardy’s team-mate Riyad Mahrez has also been superb, but for me Vardy is the pick for best player. “We must be confident because we are Manchester United, we are one of the biggest teams in the world”. “We’ve had two tough games in three days and three wins out of three now over a tough Christmas period so we couldn’t be happier, we go into the New Year buzzing and hopefully we’ll continue it at Everton next week”.
