Leicester City’s Jamie Vardy is adamant he’ll continue to play through niggling injuries in order to impress England boss Roy Hodgson.

The Leicester City forward scored for the 11th Premier League game in succession on Saturday – beating the previous record held by Ruud van Nistelrooy. “I think I got a bit carried away with myself”.
Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy described his achievement as “unbelievable” after he set a new Premier League record by scoring for the 11th game running on Saturday.
Given United’s record of splashing extortionate amounts of money to sign top targets though, it is believed that the Red Devils will not be put off by Leicester’s price tag of Vardy and are expected to pursue the striker in January.
Bookmakers are already taking odds on who could play Vardy, with Efron the frontrunner to add to his seminal roles in That Awkward Moment and Bad Neighbours, while the Leicester frontman could even play himself!
“Getting injured every week is becoming a common occurrence now”.
Van Nistelrooy’s congratulatory tweet – “you’re number one now and you deserved it” – also delighted Vardy.
The record capped a remarkable rise for 28-year-old Vardy, who was playing non-league football with Fleetwood Town just three years ago and had been playing in the seventh tier of English football as recently as 2010.
Vardy has 14 goals in a breakthrough season.
Bournemouth have now gone eight games without a win and remain in the relegation zone on 10 points with Newcastle United and Aston Villa beneath them.

“So, I am happy with the goal, but I would be more happy if I had taken the second chance I had in the second half”. “Now I’ve got the record I want to keep the run going”. He looks like our defensive leader – we really saw that when he marshalled the players on corners and told them all exactly where to stand – and he’s a major reason why our defence has been so strong.
