Two top scores in the league in Vardy and Kane, three of the best attacking midfielders in Mahrez, Özil and Payet and probably the best defensive mid this season in Kante.

The Professional Footballers’ Association has announced its nominations for the Premier League Player of the Year award. The Algerian joined the Foxes in the winter of 2014 from French side Le Havre and has rocketed his club to Premier League gold with 16 goals and 11 assists, making him the favourite to win the award.
Aside from Kane, standing in Alli’s way are the Everton duo of Romelu Lukaku and Ross Barkley, Stoke City goalkeeper Jack Butland, and Liverpool attacker Philippe Coutinho.
Their success up front has been backed up by the tireless work in midfield of Kante, who manager Claudio Ranieri joked “was running so hard that I thought he must have a pack full of batteries hidden in his shorts”.
The creative midfielder has nine goals and eight assists from 24 appearances – including some spectacular free-kicks – having missed six weeks of the season through injury.
Mesut Ozil started off the season in stunning fashion registering a number of assists.
Kane won the award in 2015, following in the footsteps of 2012 victor Kyle Walker and Gareth Bale the following year, after a breakout season in which he scored 21 goals in 34 league games.
