Leicester’s Jamie Vardy capped Saturday’s Premier League title celebrations with two goals to edge him closer to Tottenham’s Harry Kane in the Golden Boot race.

Following the game, Leicester captain Wes Morgan was presented with the trophy in front of his teammates and manager Claudio Ranieri, prompting a flurry of pyrotechnics and huge roars from the sell-out crowd.

Vardy, banned for Leicester’s two previous games, struck in each half at a jubilant King Power Stadium, with Andy King also on target, and would have had a hat-trick had he not blazed a second-half penalty over the bar.

“You can see everywhere we go we have had a fantastic response”.

The win gives Leicester a 10-point lead before Spurs hosts Saints on Sunday morning.

Romelu Lukaku, Bryan Oviedo and Joel Robles all enter the frame for the Blues as they travel to take on the Premier League Champions at the King Power Stadium as Mo Besic, Tim Howard and Darron Gibson make way, reports the Liverpool Echo.

Bocelli set the tone with pre-match renditions of Nessun Dorma and Time to Say Goodbye, honouring a recent promise to his countryman Ranieri.

King made it 2-0 in the 33rd minute, sweeping home right-footed after Riyad Mahrez’s jinking run into the box was halted by Leighton Baines.

England striker Vardy then bagged a 65th-minute penalty after being brought down by James Pennington before firing another spot-kick wildly over the bar.
