Lena Dunham and HBO are in business together, again.

According to Variety, the 29-year-old actor and writer will direct the pilot episode of Max, a half-hour comedy series set in 1963 amid the rise of second-wave feminism. The production team includes Dunham and Miller, as well as Girls showrunner Jenni Konner and executive producer Ilene Landress.
The news deepens Dunham’s burgeoning, incredibly successful relationship with HBO.
“Max” is one of many female-centric comedies in the works at HBO.
The “Girls” creator recently launched an online newsletter called Lenny Letter, which has already attracted guest writers like Jennifer Lawrence.
Actress Lisa Joyce, who stars on “Billy & Billie” on DirecTV’s Audience channel, will play the lead role of Maxine Woodruff.
Although this is Dunham’s first TV pilot since she found fame at just 25 with Girls, the star has not been resting on her laurels.

On board for the show is a hat trick of Girls veterans. She also produced documentary short It’s Me, Hilary: The Man Who Drew Eloise and the upcoming Three Suits.
