Lenovo unveils Yoga Book with real ink stylus

There is an 8-megapixel rear-facing camera as well as a 2-megapixel front-facing camera rounding the specs out with the Yoga Book. The Yoga Book does indeed have a keyboard, dubbed the Halo keyboard, which is a sort of touch keyboard that offers haptic feedback as people type on it like a laptop.

Lenovo will release a Windows 10 and an Android model of the Yoga Book later this October for $549 and $499, respectively.

That being said the Yoga Book is certainly an interesting proposition, and we reckon it could be an alternative to Microsoft’s Surface Pro 4 and Samsung’s Galaxy TabPro S. And its 690g weight makes it not much heavier than most tablets.

Jeff Meredith, Lenovo general manager and vice president for the Android Chrome computing business group, thinks that the Yoga Book reinvents the idea of what a tablet is. The Yoga Book introduces keyboard and handwriting input capability in an elegantly simple, unconventionally slender tablet design.

The Yoga Book consists of two display panels that are joined by Lenovo’s 360-degree watchband hinge. Real Pen is not only a digital stylus but an actual ink pen, which comes with replaceable ink cartridges, for writing on the included Book Pad. Instead, it displays as a solid white outline on the Yoga Book’s second panel, and it’s only on when the user needs a keyboard. The Halo keyboard is described by Lenovo as being the thinnest yet. Lenovo claims the speed and typing experience surpasses that of a physical keyboard, but to me it still felt like I was typing on a tablet.

The tablet comes with several prominent features, including JBL speakers, a 2K display and 18 hour battery life.

When the keyboard is off, the Create Pad and Real Pen give you the precision and control you expect from a traditional pen on paper, something that artists will enjoy. Users can now write with the real-pen accessory that holds real ink tips onto a piece of paper or notepad covering the multi-use keyboard panel, or as a stylus when applied straight onto the panel. Both will be available in gold or gunmetal and will arrive in stores in October.

When the Yoga Book launches, it will be available in black for the Windows 10 version and in bronze and silver colour for the Android version. The Lenovo Yoga 910 Convertible The new Yoga 910 convertible laptop has an all-metal aluminum body, a fingerprint reader for security and provides up to 15.5 hours of use on a charge, according to Lenovo.
