Leonardo DiCaprio, Lady Gaga laugh off their viral Golden Globes moment
Accepting his Golden Globe award for best actor in a drama, The Revenant, Leonard DiCaprio dedicated it to the indigenous communities of the world and the First Nations people in his film.

Brie Larson has won the Golden Globe Award for best actress in a drama film. The film was a part of the 2015 edition of the Dubai International Film Festival (DIFF) line-up. The Golden Globes are divided into two categories, which are film and television awards.
There were some surprises though, such as the resounding success of The Revenant, which won best film, best director and best actor which went to Leonardo DicCaprio.
The 2016 Golden Globe Awards took place at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, Calif., and aired on NBC Jan. 10.
During his backstage press conference after winning Best Actor in a Drama for The Revenant, ET asked him what had exactly happened. Also, as is tradition, Aaron Sorkin (“Steve Jobs”) won for his screenplay, which is all that needs to be said on the subject – he tends to earn the coveted nod.
“Thank you, I’m afraid that’s it. We’re out of time”.
It should not be a shock to anyone that the Golden Globes have become a joke.
– Director: Alejandro Inarritu, “The Revenant”.
Remember this when discussing the Golden Globes: More people (500) voted for class clown in my year at North Hollywood High than HPFAers (90) voted for the winners of Sunday night’s statuettes.
After presenters announced actress Taraji P. Henson won best actress in a TV drama, she handed out cookies to the other people at her table.
Oscar Isaac, a star of the box-office behemoth “Star Wars: The Force Awakens”, won best actor in a miniseries for HBO’s “Show Me a Hero”.
He said they had plans to go to the after parties together following the awards, with Winslet’s husband Ned Rocknroll.
There were some memorably honest and moving acceptance speeches (like seeing Sylvester Stallone get a standing ovation for his Creed win), but many were cut short because of some overlong inane bits done by some of the presenters. Besides the fact that David O. Russell’s latest Oscar bait was well below par, especially when put up against his last two collaborations with Lawrence (“Silver Linings Playbook”, “American Hustle”), every other nominated actress turned in a superior performance.
– Actor, Musical or Comedy: Gael Garcia Bernal, “Mozart in the Jungle”.
Winslet won for her role in “Steve Jobs”.

Other films that vied for the best drama prize – and should figure in the Oscars conversation – were 1950s lesbian romance “Carol“, harrowing kidnap tale “Room”, and the summer action blockbuster “Mad Max: Fury Road”.
