Bafta victor Kate Winslet has dedicated her award to all the young women who have been put down by teachers, friends and parents.

But instead, the British actress, who scooped the best supporting actress gong for her role in Steve Jobs, the biopic of the Apple founder, revealed that as a teenager she had once been told to “settle for the fat girl parts”.
“I didn’t listen and I kept on going and I overcame all of my fears and I got over a lot of insecurity and just keep doing it and keep believing in yourself”.
It was Winslet’s third Bafta win, after she took home awards for “Sense and Sensibility” (1996) and “The Reader” (2009).
“And so I would dedicate it to all those young women who doubt themselves because you shouldn’t be doubting”.
Kate Winslet was recently crowned as the best supporting actress at the 2016 British Academy Film Awards.
However, the teacher added that the only way for her to be “OK” is for her to be happy in settling for “the fat girl parts”. “Look at me now, look at me now!” Winslet smoothly replied to what must be the thousandth question about whether both Jack and Rose could have fit on that cruise ship’s door, “So much time has passed that it doesn’t matter what I say now. Thank God for time and the passing of it, that’s all I can say”. She is also there to support the women that were nominated.

One can only wonder what amazing roles she will take on in the future, and how she will inspire aspiring actresses. But DiCaprio does seem to care about finally winning the Oscar he so deserves and-if Winslet’s within hugging distance-we’re pretty sure DiCaprio will be the one not letting go. I grew up in this industry, ironically I felt very detached from it, even though I lived in East LA, in Hollywood.
