Awards season is in full swing – and the 2017 Golden Globes are the first major awards show of the year. This is Us stands separate from all of that, removed from special effects and grand characters; it’s on a broadcast network, it’s about a normal or trying-to-be-normal family, and is deeply, wonderfully emotional. So, for example, there are separate categories for drama films and musicals/comedies, and separate categories for drama and comedy TV shows, as well as a category for shorter TV series. The second round of presenters was announced by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA), this will be the 73rd Annual Golden Globe Awards.

The Golden Globes, held at the Beverly Hilton in California, take place on Sunday January 8th, with coverage beginning at 5pm Pacific Time and at 8pm Eastern Time. The last truly original musical to win was Yentl in 1984.
The 2017 best original song nominees are “Can’t Stop the Feeling!” from Trolls, “City of Stars, Justin Hurwitz” from La La Land, “Faith” from Sing, “Gold” from Gold and “How Far I’ll Go” from Moana. And soon enough, we’ll know how bright it shines.
Streep, who’s been nominated for 30 Globes (including one this year), will be given the Cecil B. Demille Award. Well, for one, there’s always a good chance some celeb will get hammered and say something stupid that’ll blow up all of your social feeds. Indian viewers can watch the entire award show live on Comedy Central, Colors Infinity, Colors Infinity HD and VH1 India channels simultaneously.
