Meanwhile, locals in Sardul Kheda, Rajasthan, watched from a distance, a few taking photos on their mobile phones.
In Sadulkheda village, the incident happened that is almost 20 km away from a sanctuary area and the animal probably strayed and entered the village to drink water.
Most took a light-hearted view of a jungle cat inside a village, suffocating and frightened, with its head in a pot hoping to quench its thirst.
Locals alerted police and forest department officials, who sent officers to help the distressed leopard. The report said that officials arrived after three hours and then took a while to tranquilize the animal as it kept running around.
