Schalke chairman Clemens Tonnies has ruled out selling Leroy Sane in the January transfer window amid intensifying interest in the dribble king from Premier League title challengers Manchester City.

And Sane’s father, Samy, said he wouldn’t prevent such a switch if it were to occur.

“Of course I’m proud when my son is getting attention with his good performances”, the 54-year-old former footballer began, as per Bild.

In fact, only Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting (51) completed more dribbles than Leroy Sane (49) for Schalke in the Bundesliga this season.

‘But Leroy is an adult and old enough to make his own decision on what he wants.

“If he needs my advice, he can always come to me – we talk a lot to each other”. He knows that I will always support him’.

Sane was pictured on a brisk jog near Miami beach, with the Bundesliga not set to kick-off again until later in January.

“We’ve decided Leroy isn’t for sale”, he told Recklinghauser Zeitung.

Meanwhile, Schalke general manager Horst Heldt was insistent last week, claiming that “even Man City haven’t got that much money” to sign Mane.

The last high-profile starlet Schalke produced, Julian Draxler, was long linked with a move to England before switching to Wolfsburg last summer, and the Miners once again look braced to hold out in the long run for Sane.
