Leroy Sane: Real Madrid, Bayern Munich still interested in the midfielder

Bayern Munich will reportedly look to hijack Manchester City’s bid to sign Schalke star Leroy Sane due to Arjen Robben’s fresh injury.

And incoming manager Carlo Ancelotti is now pondering a move for a fresh face in his position after he was ruled out for six weeks because of an adductor muscle injury picked up in a friendly against Lippstadt.

And according to German publication Blid, the Bavarian giants are looking to Sane as a potential replacement for the Dutchman.

City were thought to be close to completing a deal for Sane, who appeared for Germany at Euro 2016, after agreeing terms on a four-year deal.

The 20-year-old scored eight goals last season in 33 Bundesliga appearances.

But at the weekend, Sane’s father, Souleymane, told Sky News in Germany his son’s future could still lie elsewhere.

Some reports claimed the Bundesliga champions would wait until next summer to make their move in light of a reported release clause in Sane’s contract that stands at €37m but only becomes active next summer.

“No deal has been signed, Real Madrid and Bayern still have a chance”.

But club CEO Rummenigge declined to offer anything on the club’s interest in the Schalke winger.
