Most of the fan base was disappointed, but that’s what happens when your team drops two games and their opponent’s star head coach resigns/retires in the middle of the season.

Les Miles is one of the most accomplished coaches in college football. “We have talked about this program, and we are committed together to work and compete at the highest level”.
Miles asserted that LSU’s offense is in pretty good shape because of its running game, which accounted for 244 yards against an A&M defense coached by former LSU coordinator John Chavis. “You are our coach.’ Joe Alleva followed that up after, ‘I want you to be our coach.’ It was magnificent”.
“We’re a talented football team”.
“I had no suggestion that this was going to be my last game in Tiger Stadium”, said Miles, speaking of the booster meeting.
He was surprised by the cheers, he said, not realizing they were for him until several seconds into the roars. It’s not enough to win occasionally. Depending on which group of reports you believe, he could keep his job if the Tigers lose or even lose his job if they win. LSU Board of Supervisors member Stanley Jacobs told Gannett Louisiana on Saturday that there has been no recommendation to the board to oust Miles.
LSU was in College Football Playoff contention for much of 2015 and finished the regular season with an 8-3 record.
LSU running back Leonard Fournette ran for a 4-yard TD.
Miles has a 110-32 record in 11 seasons with the Tigers and has won 10 or more games seven times. Victory is nice, especially three weeks late. “It was hard for everybody”.
The victory celebration on the field turned into one big love-fest for the LSU coach. We didn’t play very smart tonight.
If Les Miles’ tenure at LSU was to be over, his players gave him a farewell to remember.
And they got their wish.
The crowd roared when Miles strolled onto the field prior to kickoff for a ceremony to recognize the LSU seniors. The coach tipped his trademark baseball cap to acknowledge the crowd, raising the volume a little more. Miles has won two SEC titles and one national championship since becoming LSU coach in 2005. If Miles wasn’t sure whether he’d address the Gridiron Club again, isn’t that a suggestion, if not an indication, that the A&M game could be his last? A number of his passes sailed over intended receivers or skipped off the grass short of their mark. Texas A&M Aggies rank at 38 for 246.0 road passing yards where as Lsu Tigers rank at 70 for allowing 214.3 passing yards at home.
