Les Miles reportedly fired from LSU after loss to Auburn

According to Ross Dellenger with The Advocate, multiple sources told The Advocate that Miles and Cam Cameron were fired Sunday, a day after LSU, ranked No. 5 in the preseason top 25, fell to 2-2 with an 18-13 loss at Auburn. He has head coaching experience as an interim for USC in 2013 and has been serving as LSU’s defensive line coach since previous year.

The Les Miles era in Baton Rouge has reportedly come to an end. It’s the worst start to a season since Miles took over in 2005.

Saturday night’s game was lost in a particularly awkward fashion, the Tigers apparently winning the game on a fourth-down touchdown pass as the clock ran out. The Tigers finished with a 12-2 record and a BCS Championship in the 2007 season. Orgeron filled that role at USC after the firing of Lane Kiffin.

What likely did Miles in is that 1-1 SEC record, which means he’s dropped four of his last six conference games dating back to 2015.
