Nebraska is a big-time program, so it’s hard to fault Ben for not following his father to LSU.

Ben Miles, the son of LSU head coach Les Miles, has committed to Nebraska, giving the Cornhuskers 12 commits for the class of 2017.

Ben Miles is a three-star prospect ranked No. 3 in the country according to 247Sports.

He becomes the 12th player known to have committed to the Huskers’ class of 2017.

“I couldn’t be here without the help of my family, teachers, coaches, and teammates”, he said in a note on Twitter.

The younger Miles chose to attend Nebraska over an offer from his father at LSU, as well as other scholarship offers from Michigan State and Boston College among many others.

Miles joins a recruiting group that is now rated as the ninth-best in the Big Ten, but still good for No. 32 in the nation.

Manny Miles, the coach’s other son, is a redshirt freshman quarterback at North Carolina. In addition, his daughter, Smacker, swims for Texas.

Linebacker JoJo Domann (class of 2016), whose father, Craig, is a former Kansas safety who’s been an National Football League agent for more than 20 years.
