The reports of Miles’ job instability have reached many fans, and they made sure to express their opinion on the matter: They’re behind their coach.

The Tigers also have struggled to develop quarterbacks since Miles arrived in 2005, when he inherited JaMarcus Russell and Matt Flynn. A number of his passes sailed over intended receivers or skipped off the grass short of their mark.
Texas A&M coach Kevin Sumlin is still trying to figure out how to beat LSU. Fournette, whose 1,741 yards rushing in his sophomore season has set a single-season school record, added his 18th TD of the season on a late 4-yard run. LSU’s elite defenses, led by players such as Patrick Peterson, Tyrann Mathieu, and Eric Reid, have bailed out the offense year after year. The Tigers rushed the ball 12 times on the drive, while Harris connected with Fournette for 17 yards on third-and-11 at the Texas A&M 34 to keep the drive alive.
It didn’t help that kicker Trent Domingue, who’d missed only one field goal all season coming in, missed three against the Aggies.
“There’s not a serious overhaul (to be done) because the motor seems to be pretty stinking strong”, Miles asserted.
Miles went to midfield for a senior night ceremony to greet his nine seniors playing their last home game and their friends and family members. “Les Miles is a great coach and he has a great team of coaches with him along with great players”.
Offensive coordinator Cam Cameron’s contract is up, and it’s not clear if he’ll return.
One in particular, 3-star defensive end Andre Anthony (Edna Karr High School), had a gut feeling things would work for Miles.
After the scene Saturday, to fire Miles would only bring more heat to the LSU administration that handled this situation so poorly in the last few weeks. It was a campus seemingly full of Tiger fans with nothing, but love for their head coach.
LSU is 0-5 against Alabama since winning that “Game of the Century” in Tuscaloosa during the 2011 regular season, and it’s Alabama – and not LSU – that has pulled away as the top dog in the SEC West.

Whether you believe that Miles won that title because of his outstanding job of coaching a talented group of young men to the pinnacle achievement of their young adult lives, or if you just think he got lucky by inheriting Saban’s leftovers, is a moot point. I am right with him.
