Leslie Jones’ Twitter troll: ‘I was doing God’s work’
“Nightline” showed footage of Yiannopoulos protesting in Los Angeles as part of a segment about trolling.

ABC News reporter Terry Moran called Milo Yiannopoulos an idiot, asked him if he is 13 years old and said he “represents the tip of the iceberg in a rising tide of hate and abuse in social media” on “Nightline” Thursday night.
In the weight of Twitter rants heard around the world, the trolling of Ghostbusters star Leslie Jones ranks quite high on the meter.
“I like to think of myself as a virtuous troll”, said Yiannopoulos during an interview in London.
Yiannopoulos hit a low when he compared Jones to an ape shortly after the release of Ghostbusters in July (16).
“I’ll tell you what’s revolting”, Yiannopoulos responded.
“This idea that celebrities are these fragile wallflowers, give me a break”, he continued. “That the stars of Hollywood blockbusters are sitting at home crying into their iPhones”.
“Milo Yiannopoulos represents the tip of the iceberg in a rising tide of hate and abuse in social media”, said Moran in a voiceover, “one he clearly sees as a noble objective”. “They should say if you’re conservative, and too amusing and too effective and too much of a threat, which is what I am, then sooner or later you’re going to lose your account”.
Though he was removed from Twitter, Yiannopoulos’ cutting remarks inspired other trolls to besiege Jones – which eventually caused her to sign off of all platforms for a bit. “So hurt right now”.
Earlier this summer, Yiannopoulos was booted from Twitter after saying that she was “barely literate” and a “black dude”. So it was just like one of those things like, ‘OK, if I hadn’t said anything, nobody would have ever knew about this (sic). “And by the way, most people agree with me”.

He went on to blast fellow comediennes Lena Dunham and Amy Schumer in a performance that Breitbart, the conservative news website that employs him, hailed as a signature roasting by “Milo”.
