Less GOP debate seen by 12.5 million people

With the presidential nominating process starting Monday with the Iowa Caucuses, which candidates are generating the most “buzz”?

As a result, Donald’s camp released a statement as to why he backed out, and Fox fired back supporting Megyn. But throughout the day, speculation circulated: Would Trump change his mind? But ratings experts said Trump did appear to take a chunk out of Fox’s audience. He could then swing by the rally his aides had quickly organized at Drake University, taking the stage an hour earlier than planned. It could happen. And why else would he call an impromptu press conference?

Five print reporters, CNN and at least one local television station received the email invitations and arrived at the small terminal that handles private flights on the grounds of the Des Moines airport. Vocativ tabulated which offensive names Kelly got called the most: bitch, bimbo, blonde and whore topped the list. We had a packed house, thousands and thousands of people. “And they didn’t even mention that he was born in Canada”, Trump said.

After they left the stage, Trump turned it over to John Wayne Walding, a Green Beret who lost the lower part of a leg after being shot by a sniper in Afghanistan in 2008. But, the lack of a concerted effort by the Trump team to get people registered signals a lack of focused effort. We sat in oversized leather seats around a narrow polished wooden table.

The question we all had: Would he be at the debate in 90 minutes?

But first Trump needed to control Daily Mail’s David Martosko, who was snapping photos from various angles. And then he cut and run because it wasn’t popular amongst conservatives, I guess. “Without their parents, we’ll let them run through the plane”, Trump, said. “These are the most powerful people”. After a sarcastic statement from Fox, saying that it had information that Iran’s and Russia’s leaders were going to treat him unfairly, Trump bolted. The appearance of Mike Huckabee and Rick Santorum, both of whom arrived after the undercard debate had concluded, added legitimacy, if not star power, to Trump’s event. It’s going to be dedicated to our warriors that are so badly so injured. Did hosting a $6 million fundraiser for veterans instead convince fans that he was the tough guy who can “get things done” or show many more that he is thin-skinned and lacks the temperament to be president? Hope Hicks, his spokeswoman, confirmed this information: “Yes, sir”.

Just three miles from the site of the final GOP presidential debate before voting begins, Republican front-runner Donald Trump held what amounted to a cross between his typical rally and a fundraising telethon to benefit veterans.

Mr. Trump’s campaign couldn’t be reached for comment.

The billionaire showman withdrew from the debate after a days-long feud with Fox News – which hosted the event – that centered on the Trump campaign’s insistence that moderator Megyn Kelly not be allowed to participate.

Paul St. Louis says he loves Trump because he’s “not politically correct”. “I don’t think you have to give up your liberty for a false sense of security”, he said. Trump replied by saying he didn’t have time for political correctness and addressed Kelly by saying, “I’ve been very nice to you, although I could probably maybe not be based on the way you have treated me, but I wouldn’t do that”.

Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush, a frequent target of Trump, said with a wry smile, “I kind of miss Donald Trump; he was a teddy bear to me”.

Trump was by far the most-searched-for candidate on Google during the first half of the debate, at one point outpacing the second-most-searched-for candidate, Rubio, by almost four-to-one, according to Google Trends data. A staffer concurred and said it might have been even more frequently than that.

Rather, Trump could hand Ted Cruz or Marco Rubio a victory in Iowa because he believes it when he says he could shoot someone right in the middle of Fifth Avenue and not lose a single voter. “The problem is this has now taken on a life of its own”.

“Ivanka, it would be great if you had your baby in Iowa”, he said.
