Let the Right One In: TNT Orders Pilot from Teen Wolf EP

The Swedish coming-of-age story about a lonely boy and his vampiric neighbor that debuted to critical acclaim and instantaneous cult status, Let the Right One In, is getting a TV adaptation at TNT.

Initially set up at A+E Studios, the pilot is being produced by Tomorrow Studios in association with Turner’s Studio T. Davis will executive produce the series along with Marty Adelstein (Prison Break, Aquarius, Teen Wolf) and Becky Clements (Aquarius) of Tomorrow Studios and Simon Oakes (Let Me In) of Hammer Films and Alex Brunner. It hails from Criminal Minds and Teen Wolf creator Jeff Davis (if there’s ever a crossover episode, it’d basically be Twilight!) and is an adaptation of John Ajvide Lindqvist novel, for TNT. Good news is on the horizon, however, as the cast and crew branch out and join new projects. “When a series of unusual murders pops up in their small Vermont town, it attracts the attention of a federal marshal with a mysterious past of his own”.

“Let the Right One In combines elements of horror, revenge thriller and adolescent romance into an unforgettable and truly unsettling tale”, said Sarah Aubrey, EVP of original programming for TNT. Carl Molinder, who worked on the film, will also serve as a producer on the TV show.

The original Let The Right One In story is about a bullied little boy who befriends a mysterious girl who recently moved in next door to him. Key to the remakes is having the original producers involved in some capacity as more studios look to monetize their existing film libraries. The series has just been given a pilot order over at TNT, per Deadline. Together they executive-produce ABC’s Last Man Standing and NBC’s Aquarius.

“TNT has amassed an incredible slate of programming and we are thrilled to extend our relationship with them”, Tomorrow Studios CEO Adelstein said. Let the Right One In will keep Davis in business with Adelstein following their dramatic take on 1980s Michael J. Fox feature Teen Wolf. Turner creates and programs branded news, entertainment, sports, animation and young adult multi-platform content for consumers around the world.
