According to Urk, the first batch of updates and new contents coming to the game will be on a scale close to the “Festival of The Lost” and will be bigger and larger than anything any player had seen since the arrival of “the Taken King” expansion.
The level packs are available for each of the game’s three characters – Titan, Warlock and Hunter.
The original idea of the free level boost was to be able to access The Taken King’s content straight away, if you hadn’t already played the parent game.
So, £25 for level 25? In the past, Bungie has consistently demonstrated an ability to improvise, and a knack for listening to its audience – if there are enough loud voices criticizing the way the game is headed, you can be sure that the studio will do everything possible to course-correct.
Iron Banner is different from regular PvP or even Trials of Osiris – a fireteam of six battle with power limits enabled, which means you’ll need to take your highest Light level equipment into battle to really compete. Since you can have several tied to your account, it isn’t unusual, but many players get a little nervous at the sight of microtransactions. Or the same amount of progression for less.
He also adds that the team came up with the idea to give everyone who owns Taken King a chance to enjoy the new content, instead of giving something to players than only some can obtain.

“This week we saw some chatter bubbling up around our content plans for Year Two of Destiny”, said community manager Erik Osborne in this week’s Bungie update. If you weren’t playing Destiny, know that these packs are far from necessary, or indeed advisable.
