Lewis Hamilton: “I was pushing like crazy”
The German took a record 5 pole in a row yesterday, and capitalised on it to take his second win a row.

The German denied Lewis Hamilton a first win at Interlagos to ensure he will finish second behind his Meredes team-mate in the drivers’ standings. I think the start was okay, but it wasn’t any better than what Lewis or Nico did. “Previous year I was strong in the race and I hope to carry it through”, he added.
‘I don’t have an exact explanation for why it’s going so strongly now, but I’ll just keep it going.
“Controversy within the team is detrimental and we have kept the team together because the team comes first and so, from a fans’ standpoint, I can understand, but from a team’s stand-point we are not going to change”.
Rosberg said: “It went perfectly”.
He later called for Formula One’s complex technical rules to be changed in a bid to spice up the show.
With Nico two seconds ahead of Lewis, it became a 20-lap race for the line between the Silver Arrows pair. He tried to take him on the outside at turn one but Rosberg slammed the door. When Hamilton came in he re-emerged a little further behind, 1.7sec.
Hamilton had been even more blunt on the podium when he described the race as “boring”.
He pleaded with Mercedes to put him on a different strategy, but was told this was not a good idea because of the potential threat from Ferrari behind.
“I’ve had the most poles of the year and I’ve won the world championship, so there’s nothing to read into it. You don’t always get it right, you can’t get it ideal every time”.
“It’s such a great track, but you can’t get close enough unless you have a huge advantage on the guy in front”. It would be good if you could do a bit of overtaking here.
Hamilton, whose grandfather is Grenadian, looked faster but in the turbulent air behind Rosberg’s vehicle he was unable to get close enough to try to pass his teammate. Nico has been doing a fantastic job in qualifying.
Also out went Marcus Ericsson in the second Sauber and Romain Grosjean in his Lotus, leaving the home crowd pleased to see their favorite Massa squeeze through in 10th place for Williams. Beyond that Mercedes are reluctant to split their strategies for fear of upsetting the losing driver.
Rosberg will be wondering why he did not start the season like this.
“It was a great weekend for me”. “I was pushing like insane, I had nothing left”.

Rosberg’s win suggested he could have given Hamilton a much tougher title battle if he had found such speed and consistency earlier in the season.
