Lewis Hamilton: US Grand Prix win ‘draining’
Nico Rosberg believes Mercedes team-mate Lewis Hamilton went “one step too far” after an aggressive move at the United States Grand Prix on Sunday. Now that Hamilton has achieved the success of his hero, the newly crowned champion has realised that he himself could well be about to inspire a generation. “I can’t say more than that”, he added. “To my family, I love you all”. I don’t know what’s coming next. “I can’t find the right words to tell you how wonderful this feels”. Remembering my first British Championship, when my dad and me drove home singing “We Are the Champions”.

Hamilton, 30, earned his 10th win this year, becoming the first F1 driver to hit double digits in consecutive seasons. “There is no-one else I look to, that I want to equal or emulate now”. It is about the self-belief they have. I wanted to be Ayrton Senna or Superman when I was younger and I hope that they feel the same and don’t give up on their dreams.
The Mercedes driver edged out his team mate Nico Rosberg in the final ten laps of the wet race, forcing him to make a mistake after a safety auto lap.
“Some ups and downs but the good thing about Lewis is that when he didn’t have the best auto he still won a few races, maybe not the championship but he was still winning a few races in that season and fighting for the championship and that’s not something everyone did”.
Asked to explain the moment where he lost the race and gift-wrapped the championship to Hamilton, he said: “I just got wheelspin”.
Unfortunately though, it ended up a race to forget for the four-time champions, as Kvyat crashed out of the race and Ricciardo suffered damage after a collision with Nico Hulkenberg.

246 – The number in U.S. millions which American business magazine Forbes claims Hamilton has earned in the last 10 years. “Somehow I was going to get past him in those ten laps, so I generally disagree with him”.
