The device will arrive in key markets in Latin America and India this month, to be followed by rollouts in Europe and CIS throughout the third quarter.

LG Electronics Inc., South Korea’s No. 2 tech giant, said Monday it will roll out a new budget smartphone globally in late July that runs on the third-generation (3G) network but with strong selfie features. It is powered by a 1.3 GHz quad-core processor along with 1GB RAM under the hood.

LG has announced today that it will be launching its upgraded mid-range 3G smartphone – LG Bello II, which is the succcessor of last year’s L Bello. It packs in an internal storage at 8GB and can be further expanded via microSD card. On the software side of things, the handset is running LG UX 4.0 atop Android 5.1.1 Lollipop. The company said that the smartphone will be sold as LG Max in India and will hit the country by the end of July. Although, LG didn’t say so, let’s hope that the dual-sim variant will have a better processor to handle Android 5.1 OS. The smartphone has an 8-megapixel camera sensor on the rear along with an LED flash and a 5-megapixel camera sensor is available on the front. The Gesture Shot was the feature present in LG’s G series phones. There’s also a Selfie Flash which is capable of turning the phone’s display into a soft flash.

On the connectivity front, the device offers Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, A-GPS, and Micro-USB. Moreover, Bello II hardware is powered by a 2540mAh battery. “With its 5MP selfie camera, large display and familiar features, the LG Bello II is a great balance of form, function and price, which is why we expect to be even more successful than its predecessor”. LG said that the price will vary from region to region and the exact pricing and availability details will be released only during the local launch of the phone.
