LG Electronics’ mobile payment system will be able to be used in all LG smartphones, unlike Samsung Pay which is available only in the recent Samsung smartphone models, South Korean wire service Yonhap reported on Thursday, without citing a specific source.
LG is yet to explain how exactly its mobile payment system will work and what technologies it will employ to differentiate it from Samsung Pay and Apple Pay.
LG is also reportedly planning to include a fingerprint scanner in the LG G5 to allow its next flagship to demonstrate the security benefits of using G Pay. The trademarked name is listed under smartwatches and mobile devices and is related to data transmission.
Samsung Pay is a direct competitor to Apple Pay. The service will be expanded to Hong Kong, Spain and Singapore as part of the American Express partnership in 2016.
Apple Pay promises to keep users payment information secure at all times, the service does not share any credit card numbers or personal information with the cashiers during checkout, so users can be sure that their sensitive information remains protected during all of the steps. Meanwhile, the global rollout of the service isn’t clear.

The iPad Pro iPad Air 2, iPad Mini 4 and iPad Mini 3 also support Apple Pay for online purchases but not for purchases in retail stores. The application called Chase Pay has signed a deal with the Merchant Customer Exchange, a group of major retailers including Wal-Mart Stores, the largest USA retailer, and Best Buy Co Inc to accept payments through the bank’s technology.
