LG G4 Beat goes official with Snapdragon 615 SoC

LG Electronics (LG) officially unveiled its newest variant of its widely praised LG G4 flagship smartphone. To the rest of the world, however, particularly in Latin America and Asia, the mid-tier smartphone will take on the name of the LG G4 Beat. LG says that the G4 Beat handset will be priced at an estimated price of $440 but exact pricing will vary in each market.

The handset will be available in Metallic Silver, Ceramic White and Shiny Gold in India (with the second launch wave), but details about when it will arrive, have not been let out. The device will run on Android Lollipop and gets its UI from the 2015 flagship G4 that features UX 4.0.

LG has been busy expanding the G4 smartphone lineup, catering to a much wider range of consumers.

Internally, you won’t mistake the G4 Beat for the G4.

The phone will also be accompanied by 1.5GB of RAM, a paltry 8GB of storage, and a 2,300mAh battery. On the front, a 5 megapixel camera does the honours, along with shooting capabilities borrowed from the G4, such as a colour spectrum sensor, manual shooting mode and gesture-activated selfie photos.

The G4 Beat sports a 5.2-inch full HD IPS LCD display, and has an 8-megapixel (MP) rear camera (13MP in Latin America) and a 5MP front camera. Speaking of which, it will first launch in countries like France, Germany and Brazil, followed by Canada, India, Russia, Singapore, South Africa and Turkey, among others.
