LG G5 to launch on Feb 21 before Samsung’s Galaxy S7 event
LG Electronics Inc. on Thursday released more teasers for its next flagship smartphone set to be released later this month, although it refrained from giving significant details about features or design. The latter plans to introduce Galaxy S7 to the world during its first Unpacked event of the year, which takes place five hours later, also in Barcelona.

The LG G5 will be launched on February 21, just a day before the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2016 kicks off, LG Mobile USA has confirmed on Twitter.
The G5 is expected to play a decisive role in LG’s mobile business, industry watchers added. The invite comes with the caption – “Come meet new friends on the playground”. Interestingly, Samsung will unveil the Samsung Galaxy S7 the very same day. “The excitement begins in Barcelona on February 21st!”
LG is expected to launch the G5 with an all-metal unibody design which its predecessor lacks.
Unlike earlier G series phones from LG, the G5 will not sport a polycarbonate chassis and instead will have a full-metal body. It reportedly features a 5.5-inch screen with 1440x2560p resolution, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor with 3GB/4GB RAM. For built-in storage, it could come with 32 GB, 64 GB and 128 GB variants.
On the photography front, reports suggest that the LG G5 could boast a dual-camera setup alongside dual-LED flash and a laser autofocus. Out of the box, it’s said that it will run on Android 6.0 Marshmallow.

However, if the LG G5 is to compete with the best from Samsung and Apple, it will need to significantly improve battery life. Much of the speculated specs and features have not been verified or confirmed.
