LG G6 Officially Announced: Here Are Its Specs, Features, Pricing and More
Under the hood, the LG G6 has a Snapdragon 821 SoC that is paired with a 4GB LPDDR4 RAM and an Adreno 530 GPU. The result is a sculpted aluminum and plastic phone that is nearly all screen and super easy to hold. The Lg G6 will launch very soon. Fortunately, there’s still a microSD card slot, and this one can handle cards up to 2 TB in capacity.

LG no longer offers a removable battery, but they do pack in a large 3,300mAh battery with support for Quick Charge 3.0.
Connectivity options include LTE-A with 3CA, dual-band Wi-Fi ac/a/b/g/n, Wi-Fi Direct, Bluetooth 4.1 with LE, NFC, GPS, and USB Type-C port.
In terms of software, the LG G6 has Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box and on top is the latest LG UX 6.0. Be it the rounded corners, the chamfered edges or soft matte finish of the exterior metal.
But it doesn’t end there, a mix of aluminium and glass, and globally available in white, platinum and black, the G6 is very minimalist, but it’s quite lovely to hold.
There’s also the V20’s dual-camera set up.That one had plenty of wind sucked out of its sails by the iPhone 7 Plus, which earned Apple bold op-ed headlines like “Apple’s new iPhone 7 Plus is set to bring augmented reality into the mainstream”. LG is seeking to provide a playful mobile experience that extends beyond the scope of traditional smartphones. The LG G6 comes with a 5.7-inch QHD+ display with an unusual resolution of 1440×2880 pixels with an aspect ratio of 18:9, that further extends to a pixel density of 564 PPI.
The phone has, as LG puts it, a 5.7-inch screen in a 5.2-inch body, and it looks impressive.

That alone makes it a much neater approach to multi-tasking than lots of previous attempts we’ve seen.
The company’s big marketing hook is aspect ratio – not something a majority of consumers likely consider when looking for a new phone. It is also the first phone with Dolby Vision HDR support to offer better contrast and a wider colour gamut for video playback.

Dolby Vision promises to make your videos on the LG G6 look more like the image on the right. The wide-angle rear shooter allows a 125-degree field of view, while the front 5MP camera spans 100 degrees. The camera app will have a split-screen mode, and it’s more useful than it sounds! I didn’t get a chance to thoroughly test it during the time I spent with the phone last week, but the camera app is stuffed with new features that I can’t wait to explore when I review the phone. At the same time, the wide-angle front-facing camera stands alone as your only camera choice up front, making sure you fit as much as possible in your selfie. For those who are not aware, Google Assistant is the artificial intelligence created by Google, which was earlier limited to Pixel and Pixel XL. On the contrary if the thought of missing specific features such as larger internal capacity (64GB, 128GB), high-end audio rendering (Quad-DAC), Dual-SIM or Wireless charging seems unbearable (depending on the market), then it’s probably best to pay extra and get those features in a different phone, like the upcoming next V-Series phone. Free of the shackles of modular design, which did nothing to boost the sales of the LG G5, the company has added a slab of curved gorilla glass on the back, with the two glass panels – back and front – held together by an aluminum frame.
