Both devices feature a 5-inch display, although the LG K5 comes with the lower resolution of the two phones, sporting an FWVGA resolution while the LG K8 LTE comes with an HD display. The new K8 smartphone will be available in regions such as Asia, Africa, the Middle East, CIS and Latin America.
The South Korean giant has so far launched K4, K7 and K10 in its novel K-series range of smartphones.
So what do these phones have to offer?
The main camera on the LG K5 is a 5MP shooter and there’s a 2MP selfie cam, which recognizes gestures, so you don’t have to aim for the shutter key as you pose for your photo. It runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow and is powered by a 1.3GHz quad core processor along with 1.5GB/1GB of RAM variants The smartphone sports 8-megapixel rear camera and 5-megapixel front camera. Besides, the smartphone has Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, A-GPS and a microUSB port and packs a 1,900mAh battery.
K5 measures 145×71.6×8.9mm, while K8 measures 146×71.5×8.7mm.
Users will find a smaller battery inside of the K5, set at 1900mAh, while the battery inside of the LG K8 is a 2125mAh battery for just a little bit more life on a single charge. It has an 8-megapixel and 5-megapixel camera combo and is powered by a 2,125 mAh battery.
“We are aware of the diverse needs and wants of our customers around the world and our goal is to deliver the best products to meet their expectations”, said Juno Cho, President and CEO of LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company. Connectivity options include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.2, NFC, GPS, and MicroUSB port. Under the hood, it has a 1.3GHz quad-core processor with up to 1.5GB of RAM. The smartphone will be available in Gold, Indigo, and White color versions.
