LG Ray unveiled with Octa-Core CPU and 5.5-inch Display

LG hasn’t yet disclosed the pricing for the smartphone but seeing the feature set the Ray appears to be targeted at the low price segment of the handset market. Something that may bother many is LG Ray not having LTE, meaning only 3G is supported. The device sports a metallic design and a 5.5-inch display which showcases its visuals with a resolution of 720 x 1280p and a pixel density of 267ppi.

There’s no word on whether the LG Ray will hit Indian markets any time soon.

As for the OS, LG Ray comes with Android 5.1 Lollipop with Knock Code and Gesture Shot.

As well as the rear camera and 1.4GHz octa-core processor, the LG Ray has an 8-megapixel front-facing camera, 1GB of RAM, 16GB of on board storage and a microSD card slot for expansion. It also comes with a Mali-400 GPU, which seems anachronistic by today’s standards, and there’s a glaring lack of 4G support; even midrange phones have 4G as a de rigueur connectivity option nowadays. The feature was first seen in the company’s flagship G series. The Ray also comes with LG’s signature button on the rear beneath the camera and its speaker grill on the bottom rear. The LG Ray will probably never make it to the United Kingdom or US.
