LG Unveils G Pad II 10.1-Inch Tablet with WUXGA Display

LG is keeping pretty mum about the G Pad II 10.1’s availability, saying only that the device will be sold in Wi-Fi and LTE models in “key markets” in North America, Europe, and Asia.

A quad-core 2.26 GHz Snapdragon 800 processor powers the G Pad II and its 10.1-inch screen has a 1200 x 1920 pixel resolution.

While the G Pad II 10.1 is fairly run of the mill in terms of hardware, it distinguishes itself with what LG says is a best in class 7,400mAh battery, and a “Reader Mode“.

In the connectivity department for the G Pad II, you’re looking at USB 2.0, A-GPS, Wi-Fi and while it wasn’t listed, we are going to assume Bluetooth is present as well. It comes with Android 5.1.1 Lollipop out-of-the-box, which is the latest version of the operating system available at this time. While it’s powered by Qualcomm’s top-of-the-line Snapdragon 810 processor, the highlight of this tablet is its IP68 certified water and dust resistant body.

LG has expanded its G Pad tablet-series with the launch of the G Pad II 10.1.

LG is clearly excited about the tablet, and also boasts that it features a slimmer bezel than most of its competitors, and a slim 7.8mm-thick chassis. What we do know is that the tablet will also have Microsoft Office pre-loaded, together with 100GB One Drive storage, free for the next two years.

Storage stays the same at 16 GB of internal capacity along with a microSD memory card expansion slot.

The LG G Pad II 10.1 sports a 5-megapixel rear camera sensor and a 2-megapixel front camera sensor. Dual Window divides the screen allowing you to run two applications at the same time a convenient feature for chronic multitaskers.
