The cellular antennas (2G, 3G and LTE), in addition to Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and Global Positioning System, are in the band, which means you probably won’t be swapping it out for third party bands anytime soon.
Alongside the LG V10, the folks at LG today introduced a new version of the LG Watch Urbane with cellular connectivity built-in.
LG Watch Urbane 2nd Edition works seamlessly with Android smartphones or can be used without the phone when carrying a smartphone isn’t practical or convenient especially during exercising.
Like the original Watch Urbane, the new device features a 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 400.
LG has just announced the second edition of the Watch Urbane, the company’s high-end Android Wear smartwatch.
LG has announced the successor to the Watch Urbane, this time offering LTE and 3G connectivity. That’s a big deal for evolving the device category to a point where smartwatches can truly be useful in their own right. The new device measures 44.5 x 14.2 mm to the original Watch Urbane’s 52 x 10.9 mm, however, with the taller body comes a slightly larger display with higher resolution.
Internal storage remains the same (4GB), both models are IP67 certified water and dust resistant and provides a heart rate monitoring sensor (PPG). Thanks to the cellular connectivity on board, you can use the majority of its features without the need of tethering it to a handset. Press the crown button and you can adjust the Ambient mode setting.
LG hasn’t revealed a price or release date for the Watch Urbane 2 Edition, but says the USA and Korea will be the first to get the device, with Europe, the Commonwealth of Independent States, Asia and the Middle East to follow.
