LG V20 will pack Quad DAC to boost audio experience

LG has been banging on about high-end audio since the launch of the LG G2 four years ago, where it introduced 24-bit sound on an Android phone (improving the output dramatically), but now it’s added in the new DAC which supports up to 32-bit music files.

LG hopes the path to phone buyers’ wallets is through their ears.

LG announced that its forthcoming flagship smartphone, LG V20, will be the first smartphone in the industry to feature 32-bit Hi-Fi Quad DAC (digital to analog converter) capabilities, offering superior audio experience to mobile. This means that the audio from the wired headphones will be as close to live hearing as they get (crisp and clear) with compatible headphones. The Quad DAC is the lynchpin of the many cutting-edge multimedia features included in the LG V20. The company has partnered with ESS Technology to work on the Quad DAC that allows an excellent audio experience all the time.

The company revealed on August 11 that it has teamed up with ESS Technology to bring a superior audio experience to the LG V20. The ambient noise levels get reduced almost 50 percent in Quad DAC. The sound quality produced by Quad DAC is superior when compared to those created by a regular DAC. How? In August, LG spilled the beans that its impending flagship will be the first Android-powered device to come with the new Android 7.0 Nougat operating system out of the box. We have also received confirmation that it will be unveiled on the 6th of September, and interestingly enough it seems that LG is slowly teasing the specs of the phone ahead of the official reveal because in their latest announcement, they revealed that the phone will pack quad DACs.
