LG V30 with dual rear cameras, QHD+ screen, SD835 SoC announced
From a distance, the LG V30 and Samsung Galaxy S8 have certain similar design traits.

More specifically, the digital assistant will have capabilities unique to LG.
“The V series has always been demonstrating new practical mobile technologies that contribute to high quality content creation and the V30 has not lost sight of its roots”, said Juno Cho, president of the mobile communications at LG. Unlike the predecessor models that featured a secondary ticker screen, the LG V30 ditches it for good. Both are curved on the front and back – the S8 much more so – and they both have stretched displays that leave nearly no room for a bezel. It is packed with several multimedia features and it comes with an awesome f/1.6 aperture camera sensor. There are hardware improvements as well, as the handset includes a glass lens – rather than plastic – with an f/1.6 aperture.
The device can also be unlocked using facial recognition, a feature Samsung already uses on its flagship phones. The smartphone is a Water and Dust resistant with IP68 rating. In-depth manual modes on both the photo and video settings are back and improved, with new features such as Cine Video and a host of tweaks that can get you the shot, or shots, you need.
The display, as mentioned, is OLED, specifically a 6in P-OLED edge-to-edge affair with an 18:9 aspect ratio that covers virtually the entire front fascia, as is the current trend; in fact 82% of the phone’s face is display. It started with the LG G6 and the same 18:9 display was carried over to the mid range LG Q6. Here, the OLED display over LCD is an advantage in LG V30. You’ve got a 6-inch POLED QHD+ display that takes up nearly the entire front of the phone, Snapdragon 835 processor, 4GB RAM, 64GB or 128GB storage options with SD slots for more, dual camera setup (16MP f/1.6 standard + 13MP f/1,9 wide-angle), 3300mAh non-removable battery, IP68 water and dust resistance, USB Type-C port, wireless charging, fingerprint reader, Quad DAC and headphone jack, and Android 7.1.2 Nougat. Internal storage comes with either 64GB or 128GB, along with support for MicroSD card expansion. The device is backed by a 3,300mAh non-removable battery with Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 fast charging support. The LG V30 will come with Android 7.1.2 preinstalled and will get Oreo update in future. Also, a highlight is the glass back instead of the industrial brushed metal look that comes with the LG G6. There is a 16-megapixel normal lens on the rear with a 70-degree field of view and optical image stabilization (OIS). Up front, there is 5-megapixel f/2.2 aperture lens with 90-degree wide angle. LG’s Lee says the glass will capture more vibrant and truercolours. The front has a 5-megapixel shooter, just like the V20 and G6. 15 presets can be applied to videos captured and the LG V30 supports LG-Cine Log so video files are saved with a greater level of image detail. LG has been working on increasing the screen-to-body ration and try to provide a better bezel-less experience.

In terms of aesthetics, the V30 features a six inch OLED FullVision display, and weighs just 158g – the lightest 6-inch smartphone on the market. It will be more expensive as well. The battery that is packed inside the V30 is rated at 3300mAh, and it features Quick Charge 3.0.
