LG Watch Urbane 2nd Edition Sales Stopped Due To Hardware Issue

Following LG’s announcement, though, customers won’t be able to find the watch anywhere – until LG fixes what’s not working properly. However, it looks like most of us won’t get the chance to strap one on, at least not for a while. In a message sent from an LG rep to The Verge, “a hardware issue which affects the day-to-day functionality of the device”, has led Verizon and AT&T to both stop sales of the Android Wear-powered device.

For now, neither the carriers nor LG have given a new date when the watch will go back on sale.

Anyone purchase the Urbane 2nd Edition and notice any amusing business? Unfortunately, no other manufacturers seem to have plans in the works to bring a similar Wear device to the market in the near future, although Google insists that we can expect them down the road.

On the Google Store in the U.S., you can now buy a Huawei Watch, a ZenWatch 2, a Moto 360 second or first gen, Sony’s SmartWatch 3, or the original LG Watch Urbane. It’s not cheap to develop and create a smartwatch, and so it’s insane to see that LG may end up shelving the new Watch Urbane over a hardware issue.

“After further investigation, the decision was made to cancel the rollout of the Urbane 2nd Edition LTE due to the complicated nature of the issue”, an LG statement reads. The answer is a mystery for now.
