LG Will Launch Two New Flagship Smartphones This Year

With prices for premium materials and components dropping, several manufacturers are starting to build devices with flagship-like specifications, features and build quality for very competitive prices.

LG said that it hopes the new device releases would improve the company’s profitability this year.

The company sold more than 59.7 million smartphones in 2015, but that was a measly improvement of just half a million on the previous year. The company may also revamp their mid-range lineup as they are said to introduce a more “cost-competitive” value chain as well.

LG’s mobile division consistently produces some of the most technically advanced phones around, but it’s struggled to translate its engineering might into real-world sales. That’s a huge drop from the $56 million profit the division showed over the same period in 2014. Details about the new flagship are a bit scarce.

As far as LG’s second flagship smartphone for the year goes, we’re left completely in the dark for the time being.

In the meantime, the LG G Flex 3 is expected to make its official debut in March 2016.

LG may continue to see robust smartphone sales, but it’s also feeling the pressure from rivals in the highly congested mobile market.

The new flagship smartphone from LG will also get updated cameras, on the back of the handset there will be a 20 megapixel camera with a 1/2 inch sensor and up front there will be an 8 megapixel camera.
