EAGER students started to queue outside the hall entrance at John of Gaunt to collect their GCSE results this morning.
STUDENTS at Hayes School were able to buck the national trend by delivering even better GCSE results than previous year.
“We are also pleased to have seen over 90 per cent of entries in the three sciences result in students achieving at A* to C”.
“No one can take away from these young people the fabulous set of achievements they are celebrating”.
“We have an exceptional team of staff who are passionate about our students”.
75% of our pupils achieved A* to C in maths and 82% achieved the same in English.
This year 76% of girls achieved A*-C in both English and Mathematics and 72% of girls achieved five or more A*-C GCSE grades including English and Mathematics.
This is the a year ago in which GCSE results are scored with grades A* to G.
There were individual success stories as well, such as Emily Porter who gained seven A*s and four As.
The GCSE results for The Voyager Academy are “broadly in line” with last year’s performance, according to its principal.
“The students, their teachers, support staff and parents/carers have worked tirelessly together to gain this impressive outcome and I would personally like to offer a big “thank you” to all involved”.
“Overall students were not as academically strong this year as they were in 2015, which makes these results even more pleasing”.
Ross will now study maths, business, geography and PE at the school’s sixth form.
