LifeZette: Trump Camp Mulls Using Seized Cartel Assets to Pay for Wall
Trump has previously called Mexicans “rapists”, suggested that a federal judge was biased against him due to his Mexican heritage, and put his promised wall along the US-Mexico border at the center of his campaign. Trump spoke about illegal immigration and other topics in front of an estimated crowd of 4,200.

During his speech on Wednesday, Trump again resorted to incendiary language after days of flirtation with amnesty for undocumented immigrants in the country, proclaiming that there would not be amnesty for illegal immigrants under his presidency.
Former Ku Klux Klan leader David Duke, who’s running for a U.S. Senate seat in Louisiana, hailed Trump’s speech “excellent”, and live tweeted for the duration.
“There was nothing pro-business in that speech”, Monty told MSNBC.
Mr Trump has quietly dropped his initial call to remove an estimated 11 million undocumented migrants, focusing instead on undocumented immigrants with criminal records.
Alfonso Aguilar, president of the Latino Partnership for Conservative Principles advocacy group, said on Thursday he felt “disappointed and misled” by a fiery Trump speech in Phoenix, Arizona on Wednesday that dashed the hopes of conservative Latinos that the businessman would soften his views on immigration.
At a joint press conference after the meeting, Trump said the pair discussed his campaign promise to build a border wall but not which country would pay for it. Pena Nieto said on Twitter on Wednesday night he had “made it clear” Mexico would not be paying for the wall.
“I gave Donald TRUMP a Plan that would improve border security, remove hardened criminal aliens and most importantly give work authority to the millions of honest, hardworking immigrants in the US”.
“He rejected that tonight and so I must reject him”, Monty wrote on Facebook on Wednesday night. “He can do that without me”.
Ramiro Pena, a pastor from Texas who was on Trump’s advisory council, also abandoned the campaign.
To fund construction of a new USA border wall, Donald Trump and senior advisers are considering various ideas, including the use of assets seized from drug cartels and others in the illicit drug trade.

Suarez, who had never endorsed Trump personally, said he would now be focusing his attention on Congress and on electing lawmakers who are more amenable to immigration reform. “Aiming to appear bold and diplomatic, he traveled to politically hostile territory to meet with a president who might surprise him with a rebuke, and he also risked support from some conservatives who do not want him cozying up to Mexico or softening his immigration plans”.
