Light Between Oceans shines in Venice
Vikander wore a custom made Louis Vuitton dress from the brand’s Resort 2017 collection.

At a photo call earlier in the day, Vikander stunned in a low-cut printed maxi, pulling her hair up into a romantic pony and looking lovingly at her man, who went casual in a blazer and dark jeans.
“I really felt like I had to get my s- together and just be there and be as present as she was”.
In Light Between Oceans, they play a couple living on an isolated island as lighthouse keepers, who raise a baby girl as their own after she washes ashore in a boat.
“I loved Tom, his moral compass, his strength”.
Together, Vikander and Fassbender have incredible chemistry (they’re dating in real life), but even separately, each turns in a magnificent performance that hits where it hurts. “WWI was such a horrific war, though all wars are horrific”, Fassbender told Variety.
Stars Michael Fassbender and Alicia Vikander, best supporting actress Oscar a year ago for The Danish Girl, took to the red carpet to present the film.
That’s where I started trying to think of other actors who might be able to help us make sense of Isabel, but my suspicion is that behavior that makes sense in the book, where you must fill in gaps with your imagination, don’t cut it on-screen, where you see it being enacted in front of your eyes.
Writer-director Derek Cianfrance skillfully weaves a complicated web that has no hero or villain-though you’re initially tied to Tom and Isabel, he flips the script and spends some time with Weisz’s character, just to make things truly hard.
Fassbender added, “If there was one thing to take away from the film it is forgiveness”.

Vikander explained, “Michael’s support in those scenes were a big part of me daring to go all the way, which was needed for the role of Isabel”.
