Air and ground crews continued to battle a fire in Larimer County that has consumed almost 300 acres and forced evacuations in the northern part of the county toward the Wyoming state line.
The fire has reached about 350 acres and is 35% contained.
Authorities suggested evacuations on a voluntary basis for about 40 homes in the Mill Creek subdivision, near where the fire broke out Sunday afternoon.
Several area residents attended the media briefing to get updates on the fire, which threatened 30 structures.
The fire has grown to 300 acres and is 10 percent contained.
“Fortunate, the relative humidity rose last night – which helped a bit”, Larimer County Sheriff’s Office Spokesperson David Moore said.
