‘Like Modi, next US Prez should outline economic growth plan’

Congress on Tuesday came down hard on the government over attacks on African nationals, saying such incidents have racial overtones, and demanded that Prime Minister Narendra Modi break his silence on the issue.

Quoting the Prime Minister during his one hour meeting with a 40 member state delegation of BJP on May 27 evening at the State Convention Centre here, party president Shibun Lyngdoh said on Sunday that the Prime Minister wanted the state BJP leaders and workers to spread the various initiatives undertaken by the BJP led NDA government in the last two years.

“Anand Sharma said the way Prime Minister spoke on Saturday, it seemed as if he has fulfilled all the promises he had made while running for office in 2014”.

In a strongly worded commentary posted on its website, the AICC said “if indeed there is any proof of wrongdoing, then is the Modi Government so impotent that they can not prosecute the guilty” and added that “there is a difference between a strong PM who lets his work do the talking, and a PM so busy talking that he forgets his work”.

On Wednesday morning, Oram inaugurated a DAVP photo exhibition titled “Mera Desh Badal Raha Hai, Aage Badh Raha Hai”, in connection with the completion of two years of the Modi Government.

She said the so called “Achhe din” claimed by the Prime Minister have witnessed rise in the prices of essential commodities beyond the reach of the common man and the farmers have no other option but to commit suicide.

He, however, said the next US President, irrespective of the political party, should outline his plans for growing America’s economy, leveraging technology and creating jobs just as Modi is doing in India. “I throw him open challenge to prove if he has even created four lakh jobs”, he said.

The former Commerce and Industry Minister also charged the Modi government with taking credit for schemes launched by the previous UPA government by changing their names.
