“Thanks to Mark Burnett we don’t have to watch reality shows anymore”, Kimmel said.

Earlier in the show’s opening, Kimmel threatened to take away all of Maggie’s awards if she didn’t personally come to the awards and collect them.

Winter might be coming for the residents of Westeros but for the creators of Game of Thrones and HBO it was clear skies again at the Emmys where the series won the best drama series award for the second year in the row.

“Downton Abbey” has earned 69 Emmy nominations in 15 categories over the past six seasons including drama series, writing for a drama series and casting for a drama series. For one of his more controversial bits, he announced Bill Cosby to the stage, only to walk out alone and say he just “wanted to see what [everyone] would do”. She brought lead prosecutor Marcia Clark as her guest to Emmy ceremony.

Indian-American Aziz Ansari shared a writing Emmy with Asian-American Alan Yang for their comedy series “Master of None”, while black actress Regina King won for her role in “American Crime” and African-American comedians Keegan-Michael Key and Jordan Peele were honored for their sketch series “Key & Peele”.

Courtney B Vance and Sterling K Brown, who both appeared in The People vs OJ Simpson, won the best leading actor and supporting actor in a limited series categories respectively. Julia Louis-Dreyfus won her fifth consecutive Emmy, a record-breaking winning streak. The various awards go to primetime television shows that aired from June of 2015 to May of 2016. Overall, it was celebration of the shows we love. “So I certainly do promise to rebuild that wall and make Mexico pay for it”. And she won the award for directing the BBC’s spy thriller, The Night Manager. “Games of Thrones” will likely pass “Saturday Night Live”, the all-time champion with 45 wins with two years left on its contract. It was her third win for playing the role of a dowager and like always she didn’t attend the ceremony.
