Lin-Manuel Miranda Takes His Final Bow On The ‘Hamilton’ Stage

Directly after his last show as Alexander Hamilton (and a truly handsome final curtain call), Miranda took out the scissors and chopped off the hair he’d been growing for almost two years while playing the role.

On Saturday night, Miranda said farewell to his Hamilton gig and then later, to his Hamilton hair!

“Teach ’em how to say goodbye…” he captioned a black-and-white photo revealing of a piece of his hacked ponytail on Twitter at 10:19 p.m., just after the cast’s curtain call.

Hamilton” fervor was on full display as celebrities, ticket holders and fans came out on a rain-soaked summer night to celebrate Mr. Miranda’s achievement and mark his departure.

Leslie Odom Jr., who plays Aaron Burr, and Phillipa Soo, who plays Eliza Schuyler, also marked their final “Hamilton” show. The actor will also begin filming the Mary Poppins sequel with Emily Blunt.

Miranda was later seen waving to fans on the balcony outside the theater – as he said “thank you” to the crowds that gathered below him.

Miranda had famously grown his hair out for the role.

We all knew it was coming, but were we really prepared to say goodbye to Lin-Manuel Miranda as Alexander Hamilton? Rory O’ Malley, who has taken over the King George III role, broke character during his final number to blow a kiss to Miranda.

On Friday, Miranda also released a new single “Love Made the World Go Round” in honor of the Orlando shooting victims.
