He will begin regularly playing Alexander Hamilton on July 9.

Miranda confirmed the date of his final performance date (July 9) and talked about the plans to film the show with reporters at a breakfast event this morning. Munoz seemed the obvious choice to step into the title role, since the actor is already Miranda’s understudy and alternate in the production, regularly playing one performance a week.

“Miranda added, Marks noted on social media, that “a 90 minute doc about the show called “Hamilton’s America” will air on PBS on October 17″ and that he’s launched teerico.com for merchandise – first time is t shirt with his Tony sonnet – proceeds to for fla. charity”. He recently signed on to star in a sequel version of Mary Poppins with Emily Blunt, and the show announced it would be heading to theaters around the country.

It was also announced this month that Miranda’s musical, In the Heights, will be turned into a movie and be produced by The Weinstein Company. Hamilton has, he says, “been the best tsunami in the world, but it’s been a insane thing to be in the middle of this. The next project doesn’t start until I get a minute to sleep”.

Even so, Miranda’s relationship will go on with the musical that has brought him a level of fame and success that he says is still hard to completely process.
