Lindsey Graham defends budget deal in GOP debate, Bobby Jindal blasts it
Remaining candidates who rate at least 1% in one of those polls will debate at 6 p.m. ET that night. “When politicians talk, we need to pay attention to what they do, not what they say”, he said.

The Republican debates have been ratings gold for cable networks.
“Barack Obama is an incompetent commander in chief”, Graham said early on in the debate, pivoting from the economic questions posed to the ongoing situation in the Middle East and the growing threat of the Islamic State.
Here we had four virtually invisible men-Jindal, George Pataki, Lindsey Graham, and Rick Santorum, and have I mentioned recently what a colossal dick Rick Santorum is?-talking fantastical quaffle about the country’s economy. Former Sen. Rick Santorum of Pennsylvania is enraged at what he sees as a flood of immigrants competing against Americans for low-wage jobs. You know, my daddy’s never run for president, I’ve never had a TV show. Pataki tries to make a play for millennials, saying he uses Uber, but then kind of has a disconnect when he says it’s because he “used to be driven around” as governor.
Santorum said he has an app for the National Football League and The Wall Street Journal.
Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal was the stage’s wonk; he vowed to “absolutely” do for America what he did in Louisiana. Graham presented himself as a hawk on defense issues, insisting he would restore respect for the USA among world leaders.
“At the end of the day, folks, I am trying to solve problems and win an election”.
The first question of the undercard debate went to Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal, who was asked why his experience in the government is more valuable than that of outsiders who are leading the nomination fight. It will last two hours, including commercials, and give each candidate a 30-second opening and closing statements.
“Here’s what I am good at, though, and what I liked from the beginning about the law”. But that’s okay, because the government has another way to get things done, Gov. Jindal! David Vitter, has pointedly said his tax policy will not be like Jindal’s.
Despite this self-deprecation, Graham went on to make “decent” grades in college and succeeded in getting into law school at the University of South Carolina School of Law, where he jumped to the top 15 percent of his class and made the school’s honor society, he noted.

Graham stood out for his single-minded hawkish determination to pivot every answer to a jeremiad about fighting wars overseas – in a debate nominally devoted to the economy. Graham pivots to national security – his forte – and takes a hit against Hillary Clinton on the Veterans Administration.
